Size:
Height - male: 14 1/2 to 16 1/2 inches
- female: 13 1/2 to 15 1/2 inches
Weight - 18 to 25 pounds

Red, Sesame, Black & Tan
Coat Length:
Medium, harsh.
Grooming Requirement:
Brushed and combed weekly, the hair should never be clipped short as it can ruin the coat for years. Bathing is required rarely. This little dog sheds twice a year. Between sheddings, if brushed regularly and fed a premium diet, there should be no shedding.
Activity Level:
Eergetic and active little dog, happy to play indoors but also loves romp and play outside
Temperament:
The general demeanor of the Shiba Inu is aloofness. Very affectionat toward his owner, he is tolerant of the attentions of strangers, but does not usually seek them out. This little dog is usually very dog agressive. Best kept in a one dog family.
Reception to Training:
The Shiba Inu requires firm but loving guidance, for it can be obstinate.
Good with Children:
Excellent with young children...... the problem being that children often forget to close doors and/or gates. If the Shiba Inu escapes his house or yard, he will ignore your call and run away.
Health Problems:
VWB, hip displasia, epilepsy, hypothyroidism, catatacts.
Life Span:
12 - 15 years
